My fascination with opals began at a young age, when my gold-mining grandfather introduced me to their unique reflective qualities.

These paintings, created in oil on panel, are studies of real opals that I sourced from international collectors. I've had the honor of seeing highly rare, valuable opals. It's crazy that they come from nature. I love their light diffraction, unique optical characteristics, and spectrum of colors called “play-of-color" observed in light changes.
