Artist. Painter. Designer.

Angie Crabtree

Crabtree, a classically trained painter, graduated with a Bachelor's in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. She painted her first diamond — at 5 feet tall — in 2011 for an exhibition, “Living the Dream." Inspired by her viewers’ responses, she continued to dig deeper into our perception of desire and value of earth's treasures. Using oil paint, she creates magnified portraits of real gemstones.

After being commissioned by major diamond brands, she began exploring jewelry design. During the pandemic, she created her first pieces, and launched her first collection of fine jewelry in 2023 along with her husband, Shah Singh, co-creator of JS Noor. Their offices are located in Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Growing up in Northern California, AC found crystals and minerals on walks with her gold mining grandfather, quickly learning about what society agrees are some of the world’s most valuable objects. In 2009, she graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute, and painted her first diamond in 2011 between teaching gigs. She now lives and works in Long Beach, CA.

The Team

In 2015, AC quit her day job as a high school art teacher to a pursue a full time art career. After being commissioned by Chopard and De Beers for large projects, she began to expand her business with the help of her mother.

That year, AC met her now husband, Shah Singh, at a jewelry convention in Las Vegas. In 2020, they joined forces to create AC Jewels. Shah, a third generation jeweler, also owns JS Noor with his father, award-winning designer Jehangir Singh Noor. Together, the three work collaboratively on both companies.

Hersh Jhaveri, co-owner and fifth generation diamond dealer came on board in 2022 to help launch the company. They continue to expand their team, with offices in Los Angeles and Jaipur, India.
